Episode 320 Ditch the Hustle Culture and Thrive Again with Jennie Blumenthal
On this episode of The LeadUp Podcast, Mike is joined by Jennie Blumenthal.
Jennie spent 20 years in the corporate world working with multiple fortune 500 companies to help them with digital transformation and growth strategy before the pandemic provided her with a shift in mindset which ultimately led her to pivot her professional career. Jennie is the author of the book, Corporate Rehab: Ditch the Hustle Culture and Thrive Again, and has worked with hundreds of female executives on learning how to thrive in this new post-pandemic environment.
They talk about the importance of filling up your own cup before you tend to others and how making that a common practice will help you become a better leader for your teams. Jennie shares some information on our mind's fight or flight responses and provides us with practical ways we can begin to take back control of our anxious thought patterns.
Jennie shares how the name Corporate Rehab came about originally as a funny expression she used when she first left the corporate world and began working to fix her burnout. She explains how it began as an acronym for the five steps of her corporate rehab leadership framework which is aimed at helping people figure out what is keeping them stuck in situations that aren’t good for them so that they can begin working on chasing their true desires.
Jennie’s Corporate Rehab acronym breakdown:
R – recognize
E – evaluating
H – healing
A – arise
B – build
